Like ladybugs, and most insects, lacewings have hooklike claws. In laeewings, however, the claws are attached to feet at the end of the legs instead of coming off at an angle as they do in ladybug legs. Note that the hairs, though too fine to be seen by the unaided eye, effectively double the width of the lower part of the leg. |
