Moth #2 legs

To say that this moth's legs are hairy is an understatement. The density of hairs goes far beyond what would be needed for "tactile" purposes. Perhaps it is for insulation, since most moths fly at night when it is colder. The closeup suggests that the hairs are actually elongated scales.
