The Volvox is a colonial organism with some primitive specialization among the
cells. The cells at the front end are more strongly attracted to light, this enables the colony to move toward the light. The
cells are autotrophic, producing their own food with chlorophyll.
The colonies reproduce by forming multiple daughter colonies in their hollow interior. When the
volvox colony reaches a certain size
the main colony disintegrates, releasing the daughter colonies which by then already have granddaughter colonies forming inside them.
