Stem Collenchyma

The Collenchyma is structural tissue that has elongated cells that have unevenly thickened walls. Its name comes from the greek work "kolla" meaning "glue", in reference to the glistening appearance of its walls. The walls of collenchyma will be thicker if the plant is stressed.
