Stem Sclerenchyma

The Sclerenchyma is composed of dead cells, much like our own skin and hair. In fact, you could say that one of the differences between plants and us is that our dead cells are on the outside whereas theirs are on the inside. The walls of these cells are mostly cellulose, that indigestible but very useful material that makes up the fibers used in rope, etc.

This slide is part of 100 prepared slides "Set B " I hope you enjoy the microscopic pictures of Stem Sclerenchyma found on this page. I believe you'll find these images of Stem Sclerenchyma to be superior to those found elsewhere!
